Our most fundamental strategy to becoming the number one e-commerce platform in the world for lovers of South Italian products is to operate and grow our business in a sustainable, responsible way that adds social value and minimises environmental impacts. At Sud Bazàr, we are fully committed to this ideal and also believe that it will help to ensure our long-term commercial viability.

The Environment 

We aim to make our operations and use of resources as efficient as possible while minimising waste. We are working hard to become a CarbonNeutral™ company and are making big changes in the way in which we make and receive deliveries. This includes cutting back our packaging materials and only using delivery boxes that are made of 100% recycled material. 


Our People and the Sud Bazàr Way

We aim to attract, retain, and develop the most creative talent by making Sud Bazàr a rewarding, diverse, and inspiring place for people to work within Italy. We call our business culture The SUD BAZAR Way, and our plan for growing sustainably depends on it. Great customer service is a big part of our strategy for keeping our customers happy. We aim to provide our customers with the best products and outstanding customer service. We are also engaging customers in our efforts to operate in a sustainable way, because we know that they have a big role to play in this area.


Our Commitment to the Environment

At Sud Bazàr, we are committed to making our operations and the use of resources as efficient and as environmentally-friendly as possible. We recognize that our biggest environmental impact comes from the carbon emissions as a result of customer deliveries, packaging, operating our facilities, and handling waste. We are an online business, head-quartered in Massa Lubrense, Italy, with a warehouse and a Customer Care centre in Sorrento, Italy, and we currently ship our products to over 100 countries around the world. We also provide our customers with a returns service. 

Our Environmental Approach

The Sud Bazàr Environmental Policy sets out our approach to managing our environmental impacts. In it we make the following commitments:

Our employees and any other people working on behalf of Sud Bazàr are entitled to a safe working environment wherever they are in the world. Management are responsible for the health and safety of all our employees. Risks are assessed every year and our policy is reviewed regularly. We also ensure all of our new starters are made aware of their responsibilities in this area.

We also require our outsourced centres to follow stringent health and safety standards, and they must regularly report their performance to us.

At Sud Bazàr, being a sustainable business means we are committed to providing our customers with the best possible products and the most outstanding customer service that we can. We actively seek to engage our customers in our efforts to operate in a sustainable manner, because we know that they have a big role to play in this area.

We currently have active customers in over 70 different countries. Our customers world-wide demand truthfulness and transparency from the companies they deal with. So we make sure they have an authentic, honest and helpful experience whenever they engage with us. We do this by ensuring that every area of the business is acting in our customers’ best interests. 


Our Customer Care Team

The staff at our Customer Care centre in Meta di Sorrento, Italy are the front line of our customer service efforts. Here, people handle customer queries and complaints mainly via email and social media. It is a dynamic, multi-lingual, and multi-channel environment. 


Our Promise for Quality Service

Delivering the right order within the right amount of time is the most important part of our service promise. Occasionally, things go wrong with our service, and when it does, we promise to fix the problem as fast as we possibly can. Moreover, we are also committed to maintaining some of the most advanced fraud and data security measures around to help ensure that our customers' private data is kept secure.


Our Price Promise

We promise to match the price of any non-Sud Bazàr item being sold at a lower price elsewhere; not that it happens often. If a customer sees a branded item selling for less on another website, we’ll sell it for the same price. Some terms and conditions may apply, however.


Fraud and Data Security

At  Sud Bazàr we are committed to maintaining some of the most advanced fraud and data security measures around to help ensure that our customers' personal data is kept secure and that fraudulent transactions are prevented. We see this as a big part of our commitment to exceptional customer service. 

Data Security

As an online business, we are very conscious of the security around our site and take protecting our customers’ data extremely seriously. Our IT Officer is dedicated to combating any IT security violations, and we are continuously improving our systems as well as assessing how we compare to other major online retailers.

We have put in place a number of technical and physical security controls to prevent unauthorised access to customer data. Though we cannot divulge any details on the specific security measures we have in place, customer confidence in our security measures is vital to our success and to reassure customers, we guarantee to use:

  • Access restrictions
  • Encryption of sensitive customer data
  • Alert systems.


Our Commitment to the Community

Sud Bazàr is a "young” company; over 50% of Sud Bazàr employees are under 35, so, it is quite natural for us to be passionate about helping young people achieve their potential. We truly want to make a long-term, positive difference to those who are living in the communities where our offices are located as well as where our goods are manufactured in the south of Italy.

At Home and Abroad

So far, Sud Bazàr’s local community activities have focused on the two areas where we employ the most people: Massa Lubrense and the Sorrento Coast. We want to inspire local young people in these areas and provide them with great opportunities to develop their skills and career goals within Sud Bazàr and outside of it.

As a responsible employer, we also want to improve the working conditions in the areas where our suppliers operate, including the factories that make the products we sell. This is part of our comprehensive ethical trade programme.
